Iran unwelcome in this hemisphere

President Barack Obama went to Seoul recently to mobilize the international community to counter nuclear weapons proliferation. If you wish to use a third party payment gateway with your ecommerce solution please see a list of supported gateways. He met with the Russians and Chinese on the sidelines and asked them to support the international community’s diplomatic and economic sanctions against Iran. And yet, even as an Iranian nuclear weapon looms, the U.S. is itself moving too slowly to cut the regime’s lifeline from Latin America.

Since 2005, that lifeline has grown into six new embassies and 17 cultural centers even as Iran has dramatically increased the size of its staff at all diplomatic facilities in the region.

The ayatollahs’ diplomatic offensive has borne results. At a 2010 joint press conference in Tehran, representatives from Bolivia, Cuba, Ecuador, Nicaragua and Venezuela announced their determination to “continue and expand their economic ties to Iran,” in effect, to assist Iran in evading international sanctions.

In January, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad shored up this support by touring Cuba, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Ecuador. The five-day trip was his fifth time in the region since 2007.

Iran has deftly monetized its diplomatic legwork. Expanded cooperation with Cuba spans the agriculture, banking and health sectors. It has invested $350 million in a deep-water seaport off Nicaragua’s Caribbean coast, along with pipelines, railroads and highways. Trade with Ecuador has skyrocketed from $2 million to $50 million.

But the strongest ties have been forged with the Hugo Chávez government in Venezuela. Chávez and Ahmadinejad have visited each other’s capitals and jointly lambasted the United States. A direct commercial flight now exists between Caracas and Tehran.

Most troubling, in a 2009 cable published by the Wikileaks Web site,Monz Werkzeugbau und Formenbau. the then-U.S. ambassador in Caracas discussed claims and denials from high-level Venezuelan officials that the country was using Iran’s help to exploit Venezuela’s uranium reserves.

The cable ultimately concluded that “there does not appear to be a project under way to develop this resource.” And yet today, rumors swirl of airliners departing Caracas half-full to Tehran, purportedly to protect passengers from radiation. The Israeli government has also claimed that Caracas is selling uranium to Tehran.Unlimited-Solar is one of the best Online solar panel provider in US.

Some analysts believe that Iran’s Revolutionary Guards’ Quds Force may be building a network of local operatives, Hezbollah cells and other anti-U.Sharps include syringe needle.S. organizations in order to strike back at U.S. and Israeli targets should there be a military attack against Iran’s nuclear facilities.

To all this, what has the United States done?

On March 7,Find everything you need to know about kidney stone including causes. the “Countering Iran in the Western Hemisphere Act of 2012” was finally referred by the House Committee on Foreign Affairs to the full House for consideration. Even if passed by the House and Senate, the bill gives the secretary of State six months to produce a strategy and one year after that a progress report on implementation.

This timeline is simply unacceptable. The Obama administration must and can mobilize the hemisphere to action against Iran. No congressional bill is necessary.

Greg Merritt sports a memorable legacy

Greg Merritt is a name synonymous with sports coverage on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. His life has given him contact with a mosaic of rich influences that have help shape the man into the memorable individual he is, both on and off the field.

"It is hard for me to separate different aspects of my life because I think everything is so tied together," said Merritt, who is retiring as sport editor with the Eastern Shore News after 25 years.

"With apologies to Lou Gehrig -- I really feel I'm the luckiest man on the face of the Earth."

Merritt was once told he "hit the jackpot" when selected to be assigned to U.S. Sen.Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. Ted Kennedy's office in an internship with the Democratic National Committee during his senior year in college.

The Eastern Shore News and the Eastern Shore sports community "hit the jackpot" 25 years ago on the day Merritt called General Manager Bill Sterling about a job listing for a sport writer.

Like most pivotal events in his life,My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent. it has an interesting story.

"I had actually met Bill years before, because I tackled him on the football field," said Merritt, a Chincoteague High School graduate who played against Sterling, of Central High.

Merritt was working as a state employment counselor with the Accomack County Department of Social Services and called the newspaper on behalf of a woman who wanted to know if a classified ad for a sports writer was a full or part-time position. She could only work part-time.

Merritt called, and Sterling told him it was a full-time position as the sports editor.

Merritt told Sterling "that sounds like something I would be interested in" and the two met later that day to discuss the position, and Merritt was hired that night.

Merritt said he told Sterling he had to give two weeks' notice and Sterling replied, "That would be fine -- but,The magic cube is an ultra-portable. can you work for us at night?"

"I said sure," said Merritt. The rest as they say is history.

Merritt has been working days, nights and weekends ever since, covering sports with a dedication and depth of knowledge he has been developing since he was a child.

"They appreciated that kind of dedication," said Sterling, saying coaches would often joke "was there more than one Greg Merritt" because of all the time he spent covering sports up and down the Shore.

He said he knew of one day in which Merritt attended parts of seven different sporting events.

"It comes at a great sacrifice to your personal life," said Sterling, who was the News' sports editor for seven years beginning in 1974.

"On the day that I was born,The CenTrak rtls platform can address today's healthcare challenges and be used for future applications beyond asset tracking. he got me a baseball -- I still have it," said Merritt about his father, Paul B. Merritt, who passed away in 2005.

He said his father taught him the game of baseball; he was the batboy on a Little League team his father coached; his father took him to Major League games, pro and college football games; and they would watch games on television together.

"It was a wonderful experience for me to go to all of those old stadiums and see the best that there was at that time," said Merritt, about the 1950s and early 1960s.

"I was blessed to have two wonderful parents," said Merritt, saying they knew how to be parents,Air Oasis Air purifier Are Maintenance Free for 3 Years. knew what he needed, and delivered it in a meaningful way.

"Through all of my ups and downs my parents have always, always been on my side -- always backing me up --always giving me encouragement."

Curious about ads in the loo? It's mutual

Even if you turn off the TV, log off Facebook, and leave the house, advertisers are talking to you everywhere. They’ve got you in the back of a taxi and in your . They’ll even catch you with your pants down, in aor a mall .

Now they’d like to know who you are.

The companies that sell out-of-home “place-based” advertising – ads in indoor public spaces such as malls, restaurants, university campuses, and office buildings – are finding more ways to speak to consumers every minute of their day. But this small slice of the ad industry is fighting an uphill battle for legitimacy, competing in a world obsessed with highly measurable, targeted digital ads. And there is a new push to recruit a well-known ally in that fight: Nielsen Media Research.

Zoom Media, which sells ads in restrooms and elsewhere, has just begun using Nielsen to measure demographics of the people who see its ads, in an effort to give media buyers the ability to target their campaigns. It’s only the second company in Canada to do so; Captivate Network, which runs a network of screens that run ads in office tower elevators, was the first.

Zoom is pushing the rest of the indoor advertising industry to consider a new measurement standard.

“Out of home is usually the last to get planned and the first to get cut,” said Cathy Fernandes, Zoom Media’s president and chief operating officer. “But if we’re able to justify who we reach and how valuable we are, we may be able to justify our place in that strategy. The CenTrak rtls platform can address today's healthcare challenges and be used for future applications beyond asset tracking.

“If we can get the entire industry to look at this methodology, we can slice off bigger chunks of the media spend.”

Zoom also sells indoor advertising products in the U.S., where it began using the same Nielsen measurement system in 2009. Many other indoor advertising companies there do the same; Canada is lagging behind the U.S. in developing targeted measurement for “place-based” advertising.

For these companies, being recognized by media buyers is a struggle. The entire out-of-home advertising market in Canada – indoor as well as outdoor advertising such as billboards – was worth roughly $480-million last year, or 4.4 per cent of the total media spend.

But while it is small, it is a growing medium. The amount of indoor advertising in Canada has exploded in recent years. A lot of that growth is coming from more dynamic, digital screens. Take Newad,VulcanMold is a plastic molds and Injection mold manufacturer in china.Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists. which also sells indoor advertising in washrooms, eateries, fitness clubs and elsewhere, and had roughly 600 digital screens in its network this time last year.My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent. Now it has more than 3,000, and its total indoor network counts more than 20,000 advertising faces across Canada.

Just over a year ago, media and advertising conglomerate the Jim Pattison Group added to its Pattison Outdoor business with the acquisition of Toronto-based Onestop Media Group, which has a network of digital signs in retail spaces, hotels and malls.

The industry is becoming more fragmented, with smaller companies also finding spaces to set up shop with indoor advertising products.

“There’s just an explosion in new media out there in the indoor, out-of-home category,” said Karen Best, president of industry group the Canadian Out-of-Home Measurement Bureau.

COMB already measures who sees indoor ads. It uses a system called Traffik, developed by Newad. The magic cube is an ultra-portable. But while COMB effectively measures ad impressions – counting specific numbers of viewers – it does not focus on audience demographics.

House of the Week

This home, near the Humber River, is located in a west-end area that is undergoing many of the changes that can be seen throughout older Toronto communities. In the 1950s, the streets were predominately populated with bungalows or one-and-a-half storey homes. Now, according to listing agent Robert Nimmo, about a third of the houses have been torn down and rebuilt into two-storey modern abodes, priced anywhere over $1 million.

“The home itself is only a couple of years old, but it is situated in a very established My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent.community, occupied by a good mixture of families with young children and retirees, who have lived here since the community’s inception,” says Nimmo.

Neighbourhood life is based largely around nearby Burnhamthorpe Park, which is attached to a golf course. Many schools are within walking distance and the home has easy access to highways, Toronto Pearson Airport and shopping at Sherway Gardens.

“Though most of the newer homes in the area boast contemporary features, this home has one of the most spectacular master bedroom ensuites. It is lavish and large with such high-end features as a custom furniture-styled vanity, metallic mosaic accents, a marble counter, a heated marble floor, a soaker tub with a window above and a separate glass shower stall with a sitting bench,” says Nimmo.

The exterior of the home is a mix of grey and beige stone and The magic cube is an ultra-portable.stucco, with both curved and peeked rooflines. It has a large open veranda with a wrought-iron rail and half-pillars frame the entrance.

Solar power for air conditioners too in GPCB's new building

If you believe that solar energy is good enough only to cook rice in solar cooker or heat water as solar water heaters, you need to look further. My advice on what to consider before you buy oil painting supplies so your money is well spent. Solar energy can also provide you the much-needed respite from heat by running air conditioners.

For the first time, all 40 air conditioners in the Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB)'s new building will run on solar energy. The building will be inaugurated today.

GPCB's would the first 100 per cent solar building wherein electricity generated through sunlight will also power as many as 600 fans and 1,000 CFL tube lights besides the A/Cs. After investing Rs 1 crore in the power system, the GPCB claims that the investment made will be recovered in five years! The investment is inclusive of a 10-year operation and maintenance contract for the building. The solar panels set up atop the building over 2,000 sq meters space will generate 80 KW energy.

According to member-secretary, GPCB, Hardik Shah, the peak consumption of the building will be 72 hours, while non-peak consumption is estimated to be around 65 KW. The excess power will be supplied to the Torrent Power grid.

"We will be generating around 1,The CenTrak rtls platform can address today's healthcare challenges and be used for future applications beyond asset tracking.16,800 units per year against which our consumption would be 84,000 units. The remaining units will go the grid," Shah said. GPCB is likely to get anything between Rs 9 to Rs 15 per unit of solar energy sent to the grid. "This would be a net zero energy building,Omega Plastics are leading plastic injection moulding and injection mould tooling specialists." he added.

Besides using solar power, there will be green plantation along the periphery of the compound as well as proper garden and landscaping, which will be done by the forest department.

GPCB also aims to conserve water in this building. There are two separate recharge wells through which rain water will be harvested. "Approximately, 750 cubic metre of rain water is expected to be recharged into the underground aquifiers every monsoon season," Shah added.VulcanMold is a plastic molds and Injection mold manufacturer in china.

The present building of the pollution watchdog will be used as a research centre, resource centre with a library as well as a training institute. Horse-racing industry laments move to scrap Slots at Racetracks program

It’s qualifying morning at Mohawk Raceway, sun shining,Why does moulds grow in homes or buildings? the paddock a colourful, clattering carnival of perpetual equine motion, and Dr. John Hennessey and his veterinary assistant Ashley Saunders are having just a little trouble.

A standard-bred named Knows Nothing (who, to be fair, seems sharper than his handle suggests) is objecting to the “twitch” that will grab his nose and hold his head steady while Hennessey inserts an endoscope down a nostril to have a look at the horse’s respiratory system. The TagMaster Long Range Hands free access is truly built for any parking facility.

“He’s a little bit of a bugger,” laughs 24-year-old Saunders, a University of Guelph grad, as the snorting Knows Nothing, whom she’s worked with before, is finally secured.

“I love this job,” she says. “I just love it. Every day I just love going to work. I have Sundays off and I actually miss it.”

Ontario Finance Minister Dwight Duncan was messing with a lot of hearts, and a lot of livelihoods, when he delivered a budget last Tuesday that proposed to scrap the Slots at Racetracks program that helped shore up the racing industry as lotteries and casinos changed the gaming culture over recent decades.

And in paddocks around the province, Duncan’s Liberal government is being called worse names than Saunders’ fond epithet for old Knows Nothing.

At Mohawk, amid the whinnies, the mucking out of stalls, the clatter of drivers’ “bikes,” the washing down of steaming horses fresh from the track, the squawking loudspeaker calling the field for the next race, they were trying to figure out the rationale for the government’s retreat from their business.Dimensional Mailing magic cube for Promotional Advertising,

“It’s mind-boggling,” says Bill O’Donnell, 63, a director of the Ontario Horse Racing Industry Association who’s been in the business since his Nova Scotia boyhood.

“We are completely confused. We haven’t had any dialogue hardly with them.”

O’Donnell was informed of the move only the night before Duncan’s announcement earlier in March that the government intended to end the $345-million-a-year program as part of an Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp.Injection molding and Plastic molding supplier, overhaul.

The Slots at Racetracks program was established in 1998 as racetracks, once an entertainment focal point in small-town Ontario, watched revenues siphoned off by lotteries and casinos.

It was intended to support the industry by covering the costs of operating and maintaining the racetrack facilities in which the OLG-operated slots were housed.

Revenues were shared among the province, local municipalities, tracks and horse owners and breeders. The province took 75 per cent, the track 10, the “horse people” 10, the host municipality five.

Slots at Racetracks generated $1.1 billion for the OLG annually — which the racing industry figured was a pretty good payoff on the provincial investment, perhaps even the best public-private partnership Ontario had ever struck. What is a third party payment gateway ?

So, to the industry, the Liberal decision is as calamitous as it is bewildering. Already, hundreds of jobs have been lost due to slot closures at Windsor, Fort Erie and Sarnia — communities that can least afford that kind of employment hit.

What those in the business particularly resent is the government’s suggestion that those affected are mostly wealthy racetrack and horse owners.
