they can move forward with the installation

Six months of talking will soon translate to action for a solar panel project that is estimated to save the town 25 percent to 30 percent on its energy costs.

First Selectman Philip Anthony said DCS Energy, the South Glastonbury-based company that will install the solar panels, is working out the last details with the two power companies that serve the town, Jewett City Public Utilities and Connecticut Light & Power.

"Once that's complete, they can move forward with the installation,Our Polymax RUBBER SHEET range includes all commercial and specialist" Anthony said Friday.

Solar panels will be placed on the roofs of the Town Hall,The name "magic cube" is not unique. senior center, both firehouses, Pachaug Town Hall, public works garage,We processes for both low-risk and high risk merchant account. nurses building, middle school and elementary school.

Panels will be ground-mounted at the sewer treatment plant because the roof is shaded, Anthony said.

Federal credits will pay for the installation of the panels, so there initially will be no cost for the town. DCS Energy will maintain ownership and be responsible for maintenance for the first five years of the project. After that, ownership of the panels will revert to the town, which will then be responsible for upkeep.

Griswold High School was to be the 11th building receiving panels, but Superintendent Paul Freeman said he didn't see the value when the school's roof is nearing its 20-year lifespan.

"The building is appropriate for solar placement, but the roof is about 18 years old," he said. "We're going to have to take them off in a year or two or three."

Freeman said he will continue to pursue solar options for Griswold High School once the roof is redone. Initial drafts of the budget this year had put aside some money for a roof replacement, but that was cut.

Panels will go up on Griswold Middle School, which recently underwent extensive renovation, and Griswold Elementary School,Welcome to the official Facebook Page about Ripcurl.Handmade oil paintings for sale at museum quality, which is under construction.

"When you put them on a brand-new roof and you know you'll get 20 years of life out of them, it makes sense," Freeman said.

Resident Dawn Newman said the solar panel plan is solid.

"Whatever saves money is a good idea, so I think it's a great idea," she said. "Let's use what power God gives us."
