Crawfordsville pair arrested for theft

Two Crawfordsville residents, Twila Whitecotton and Bryce Whitecotton, were arrested following a convenience store theft Tuesday.

Around 6 p.m., Tuesday, Fountain County law enforcement officers were notified of a theft from the Marathon at U.S. 41 and U.S. 136 in Veedersburg.

A Fountain County deputy attempted to stop the suspect vehicle on U.S. 136 in Veedersburg. The driver refused to stop and deputies gave chase.

The pursuit continued west of U.S. 136 out of Veedersburg.

While in pursuit the passenger in the suspect vehicle threw a glass bottle out the passenger window at the police, hitting the windshield and causing damage.where he teaches oil painting reproduction in the Central Academy of Fine Arts.

Twila Whitecotton was taken to the Fountain County Jail and Bryce Whitecotton was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries before being transported to the Fountain County Jail.

A Covington police officer also received minor injuries while deploying the stop stick.
